With their colorful flowers, they enliven the space of the garden, terrace and balcony and look very beautiful in hanging baskets, along curbs or as a ground cover.
The genus of evergreen plants Osteospermum belongs to the Asteraceae family and includes over 70 species of annual, perennial and shrubby plants. The Latin name of the genus Osteospermum comes from the Greek words osteon, which means bone and sperma, which means seed.
Depending on the species, the African daisy can grow to a height of 30 to 60 cm. The leaves are dark green or grey-green, long, lance-shaped and serrated on the edges.
The African daisy flower is located at the top of the stem. The flower head consists of a central disc and petals. The central disc can be blue, yellow or purple, and the petals white, cream, pink, yellow, blue or purple. Petals close at night and when there is not enough light.
