The Tigerella Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) is an eye-catching heirloom variety, known for its striking red-orange skin with golden-yellow stripes. Each fruit weighs between 60–120 g and ripens early, in about 59 days. Its unique appearance and balanced, tangy-sweet flavor make it a favorite among home gardeners and chefs alike.
Originally developed in Great Britain, this cultivar is believed to have been bred by Dr. Lewis Darby in the 1950s, or possibly earlier by the Glasshouse Research Institute in the 1930s as a cross between Ailsa Craig and an unknown variety. The result is a vigorous, high-yielding tomato that performs exceptionally well both outdoors and in greenhouses.
Tigerella is an indeterminate (cordon-type) tomato, meaning it will continue to grow and fruit throughout the season. Its strong vines produce abundant trusses of beautifully striped fruit that ripen evenly, up to three weeks earlier than traditional varieties like Moneymaker.

Requires rich, well-drained loamy soil with a pH of 6.2–6.8.
